Media awards

I particularly enjoyed Dyari's  performance. Dyari's opening scene to the video immediately caught my attention as it built tension through how the shot followed his character and the natural lighting matched the setting, the setting the scene was set in really stuck out to me immediately as it evokes a sort of curiosity to me in determining where exactly they were as it opens in an in medias res the viewers are immediately interested by it. The shift in scenes directing either at Dyari or the person chasing him creates a sense of urgency as the person behind him approaches.    I also enjoyed Tulika's performance. The scene beginning with the use of a face mask(prop) creates a layer of sinister undertones and leads the audience to question what's going on and for the identity of the masked person. Tension is then further built through the use of little to no lighting within the first shot, being unable to distinguish who's giving the orders urges the viewers to co...

Mise-en-scene recreation practical task

Image
The clip i will be recreating is a scene from shameless staring the characters Ian and Mickey C - fully black outfits L - i tried to mimic natural lighting like in the origional clip as best as i could A - positioned identically to the origional clip (identical in not being able to sing either) M- the actor posed as mickey wore a ring and had the letters F U CK on her knuckles like her chara cters. P - although hard to see theres dental floss and a jug of water S - takes place in a bathroom most camera shots being through a mirror  Actors Hayden - Ian Ruma - mickey Feedback 1)This task was very anxiety inducing to be honest i was shaking when my video came up to be assessed and my friends who acted in the video can vouch that i was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to recording the footage, we would count the amount of seconds each scene is just to make it extra sure that the timing was perfect, ironic considering the music was off, but in short it was fun for my first sh...

Mise-en-scene Blog tasks

Image
  1) Find a distinctive   still image   and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson. This still image takes place indoors with limited set dressing, which in turn highlights the bland environment they have found themselves in juxtaposing their blood soaked suits and fluorescent  mugs. the use of said  mugs was to draw attention to them as the rest of the scene is avoid of colour. The actors are faced towards the camera the same expression on their faces and are holding their mugs both with their left hand. This highlights a natural bond between the two as  their actions are in sync with one another,The costume choice being suits leads me to believe   they're  both within a government ranked position  followed by being covered in blood evokes  a sense of curiosity into me as someone   who   has never seen pulp fiction it makes me wonder what has happened for them to be st...
