Sound practical feedback and learner response

 1)Mr Halsey
WWW:
  • Great choice of song and the scene selection for the parallel element is just perfect - exactly the shots/reactions from characters that you want.
  • The switch to contrapuntal is excellent - it gets a clear audible reaction from the audience and the   extremely violent scene coupled with the pop song meets the brief perfectly
2) Type up your feedback from fellow students -
WWW:
  • Fits the tone perfectly
  • First clip was parallel, contrapuntal video was perfect

3)Personal

WWW:
  • the contrapuntal video ended matching the beat of the song
EBI
  • make sure video is sized to fit in the frame
4) Learner response:  Whose did you think was best and why?

In my opinion Janice's video was the best one as before the switch of scenes  i wanted to almost join in dancing until it changed to the fighting scene which evoked almost an awkward feeling as the song i once wanted to dance to was played over a brutal scene, ti was overall done very well. ( i may also be slightly biased as we used the same clip :)

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?

Sound  plays a crucial element in giving a scene an underlying theme / narrative if the director wishes to do so, having a seemingly normal video with horror music may signal to the viewer their demise or the challenges withint their relationship
