The scene starts out with a straight cut to an extreme close up of powders shoes, directly contrasting the original introduction of jinx within s1 ep 4 of arcane in which she and ekko are engaged in an opposing battle. In doing this the writers of Arcane cleverly convey the painful reminder of what could have been between these characters, Whilst also affirming Ekkos feelings no matter how hidden they once were in this universe and in turn shining a light on the contrast in experiences as ekko is given the privilege of being able to focus on his feelings and seek them out  whereas in his original timeline he is consistently experiencing intense and traumatic hardships so he's not given the time to truly explore his emotions.Having all the other characters out of focus in this scene greatly contributes to the growing tension between both powder and ekko as the viewers are seeing how they see each other highlighting the level of admiration ekko has for her and vice versa. Following this the creators decide to reduce the frame rate to 4fps, in doing so it highlights ekkos wish to remain in this timeline and savor every moment but it also is a glimpse into his future powers being able to rewind time to just 4 seconds during this scene the direct translation of the lyrics are “ you know what they say, stay close to your dearest friends but also even closer to your adversaries. But my best enemy is you, flee from me, the worst is you and i but if you keep searching for my voice forget me” These specific lyrics link so well to this pairing due to the loving friendship the formed in their childhood before powder became unstable and mentally ill to now in his universe being the perfect antithesis of one another in a twisted form of tragedy but in this one they truly are more thn friends so this indicates that the song primarily is directed towards ekkos viewpoint. Within the same part the lyrics read “ i love you, i'm leaving you” the juxtaposition of those 2 highlights ekkos plans even after everything that has happened he still wishes to go back to his old timeline to help the people he cares about a decision which highlights ekkos loyalty and selflessness. After the dance a 2 person shot is used of them overlooking a night sky in the presence of a half moon which i have chosen to interpret as ekkos lack of fulfilment even though he's in his perfect reality he's feeling responsible for those he left behind so he knows he has to leave. The music now shifting from diegetic when it takes place in a dancing sequence to non-diegetic when they're outside further perpetuates his wishes to remain stuck in place there forever with the people he loves.The use of a medium close up when they cut back to the dancing as they get closer draws attention to the way their bodies and faces are reacting to one another with the hands being clasped together and gazing into eachothers eyes.over the Shoulder shots are then used whilst maintaining the 180 degree rule whilst they are dancing to properly illustrate the sheer enjoyment both experience in this moment.This then shifts to a CU of both of them however only ekkos mouth is present in the shot with greater care being placed on powder and her words “sometimes taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind” a panful reminder to ekko that he cant stay after which powder attempts to kiss him which the audience view from a back shot of both characters this creates a more intimate scene between the two as opposed to having us view the entire interaction from the front this opens up discussions on their body language and in terms of actor placement having them both overlooking the city may have been intentional in order to symbolise not just their closeness but also draw attention to how safe it feels in this universe.Ekko then asks if powder can pretend to kiss him like the first time” with this dialogue leaving it open to interpretation whether or not tht highlights that he and jinx in hs timeline may have experienced something similar or s confirmation that in this universe ne and powder ended up together.She then caresses his face as the non diageic sound increases in volume on the chorus “my best enemy is you” and they then kiss with a cut back to them dancing lively with one another back into 4fps the frequent cuts back to them dancing during the interaction highlights just how much he wanted to remain there before ending on a 2 person shot of them staring directly at one another before a fade out.
